Pet Cage Wire Mesh Production Line Machines

A pet cage wire mesh production line normally needs several coordinated processes. Straight wire becomes mesh panels; heavier or differently shaped wire may become frames, doors and fittings. The equipment list should follow the cage design, assembly method and accepted cages required per shift, rather than a generic list of machines.

Define the cage before sizing the line

Identify the animal and intended use, assembled dimensions, panel layout, door operation, wire specifications and joining method. Have the responsible product designer define mesh openings, edge conditions, strength and applicable product requirements. These cannot be selected safely from a machine brochure.

Create a bill of materials for each cage model. Count the different panels, frames, hinges, latches and handles. This becomes the basis for capacity planning and for checking whether every required part has a production route.

Prepare wire by straightening and cutting

Wire supplied in coils needs controlled payoff and straightening before cut lengths are arranged into mesh or fed to other operations. Specify length tolerance, relaxed straightness, surface condition and how blanks will be collected.

The wire straightening machine buyer guide provides background for this stage. Compare the wire straightening machine range against the longest and shortest blanks in the cage bill of materials, including their handling requirements.

Form frames doors and reinforcing parts

Use a suitable bending arrangement to produce perimeter frames, door frames and reinforcement components. Check bend position, end alignment and fit to the mesh panel. The frame and panel may require different wire grades or cross sections.

Where end joining is required, evaluate the forming and welding route as a complete operation. Do not assume a frame-forming machine also produces every panel intersection or all small fittings in the cage.

Arrange wires and weld mesh panels

The panel route must position longitudinal and cross wires at the specified spacing before joining the intersections. Fixture references and wire straightness affect repeatable positioning. A row or gantry arrangement may be suitable depending on panel size, weld layout and loading method.

Jinchun's gantry welding machine selection guide helps define those requirements. The custom industrial row spot welder is a concrete product reference for discussing electrode spacing and mesh applications, subject to the actual panel trial.

Trim edges and verify the result

Trim projecting wire ends to the drawing and inspect the resulting edge condition. Cutting alone does not prove that an edge is free of burrs or safe for the intended product. Some designs require additional finishing or edge protection.

Review the pet cage wire mesh trimming machine for the trimming stage. During the trial, use the actual mesh pitch and wire size, then inspect corners, door openings and areas that animals or handlers may contact.

Produce hinges latches and handles

List small components separately because their forming, joining and assembly methods can differ from the mesh process. Some can be made on wire-forming equipment; others may need dedicated tooling or purchased components.

Confirm fit and movement in the assembled cage. An accurately formed hinge can still bind if panel position or coating thickness changes its clearance. Record whether these fittings are supplied by the line, made elsewhere or bought in.

Control flatness squareness and weld quality

Check incoming blanks, welded panels and the assembled cage at separate stages. Measure panel dimensions and diagonals using the agreed method, assess flatness without forcing the panel onto a reference surface, and apply the specified joint test.

Use defect maps to identify repeated weak intersections. The gantry welding troubleshooting article helps connect local weld defects with electrode, positioning and process checks. Final inspection should also confirm door closure, latch retention and the absence of damaging projections.

Specify finishing and corrosion requirements

Decide whether the design uses coated incoming wire or finishing after fabrication. Welding and trimming may change local surface protection, while later finishing may affect openings and moving clearances. The route must account for these interactions.

Confirm the coating system, surface preparation, inspection and intended exposure with the responsible suppliers. Do not assume that forming and welding equipment includes cleaning, coating or curing. These operations need separate capacity and layout planning where required.

Balance handling and panel quantities

Measure output in complete cage sets. In an illustrative design requiring four identical panels per cage, a station delivering 240 accepted panels per hour supports at most 60 cage sets per hour before considering the other components. This is a planning example, not an equipment rating.

Include wire loading, panel transfer, trimming, assembly and packing. Choose manual, assisted or automatic handling based on panel weight, product variety, repeatability and the practical flow through the workshop.

Build a quotation and acceptance package

Send the cage drawing, component bill of materials, stock specifications, panel sizes, weld map, output target, assembly method and finishing route. Provide utilities and a layout with material access and maintenance space.

For a related manufacturing example, Jinchun's chicken cage production guide shows how wire preparation and mesh welding connect. Apply only the relevant process ideas; pet cage dimensions and acceptance requirements must come from your own design. Accept the proposed line using complete assembled cages as well as samples from each critical station.

FAQ

1
Can one machine make a complete pet cage?
Some operations can be integrated, but a complete cage may still require trimming, fittings, finishing and assembly. Confirm the full process boundary.
2
Does edge trimming eliminate every sharp point?
No. Inspect the resulting edge and perform any additional finishing or protection required by the design.
3
How should line output be calculated?
Use the bill of materials and the capacity of each station to calculate complete accepted cage sets, including assembly and finishing.
