Leading wire forming machine manufacturer specializing in the development of welding technology.
A wire straightening and cutting machine coil change trial shows how the process recovers from a normal production interruption. During a Canton Fair sourcing trip, ask suppliers to include this test in the follow-up demonstration. A polished sample from an established run tells you little about the scrap, adjustments and operator work needed after a new coil is loaded.
Choose the change that occurs in your factory. Replacing an exhausted coil with the same material is different from changing wire diameter, grade or finish. For the first trial, keep the part drawing and material specification unchanged and record the two coil lot numbers. Test a material or diameter change separately so its effect is visible.
Agree the cut length, measurement method, permitted straightness deviation and acceptable surface condition before running. State the planned run quantity and how many consecutive conforming blanks will demonstrate stable recovery. These are buyer and supplier acceptance criteria, not universal machine specifications.
Use the wire straightening and cutting machine as one starting point for a configuration discussion. If you are also reviewing the trimming and straightening product page, ask Jinchun to identify the offered cutting arrangement and equipment revision explicitly. Product names alone do not establish that two offers use the same process or support the same trial conditions.
Send coil weight, dimensions, winding photographs, wire specification and the intended blank drawing. The guide to wire payoff systems for straightening and bending explains why the coil and feeding arrangement must be considered together. Confirm which payoff and collection equipment will actually be included in the demonstrated line.
Before the change, collect a numbered sequence of blanks and record cut length, the agreed straightness result and surface observations. Record the running settings and the material lot. Keep these samples separate from setup pieces; otherwise, a later comparison may mix accepted production with adjustment scrap.
Begin the changeover clock at the agreed event, such as the last accepted blank from coil A. Record the stop, coil replacement, threading, first restart and first accepted sequence as separate milestones. Follow the machine manual and site isolation procedure for loading and threading; the trial should use the normal authorized operating method.
Number the first blanks after restart in production order. Record every adjustment, its reason and the sample number at which it occurred. A single acceptable blank followed by several rejects is not stable recovery. Continue until the agreed consecutive acceptance condition has been met, and preserve the full sequence of results.
Separate unused coil remainder, threading offcuts, dimensional rejects and surface rejects. Record scrap by the agreed unit, such as length or mass, and avoid counting one piece twice. This makes the result useful when comparing a process with frequent small batches against one with long uninterrupted runs.
For each run, retain the trial ID, drawing revision, coil A and B lot IDs, settings revision, operator, event timestamps, sample results and scrap categories. Report total elapsed recovery time and the portion spent on each operation. If material handling is excluded from a supplier demonstration, identify that exclusion beside the reported time.
Run another change using the same procedure when the purchasing decision depends heavily on changeover performance. One observation is a useful demonstration but provides limited evidence of day-to-day consistency. Keep any second operator or different material lot visible in the record rather than combining unlike trials into one average.
When marks appear after the change, compare incoming wire with the retained blanks and check where the marks first occur. The article on preventing scratches during straightening and cutting provides a useful diagnostic extension. Do not keep adjusting straightening settings to compensate for damage already present in the incoming material.
Close the trial with a decision for each requirement: accepted, retest required or awaiting evidence. Keep unresolved issues attached to the relevant sample IDs. To arrange a drawing-based trial, contact Jinchun Machine with your coil data, blank drawing and proposed recovery criteria. Ask for the trial scope to be confirmed before shipping material.
